China Brew China Beverage (CBB) is one of the top and most important international trade shows for the beverage and liquid food industry. In 2018 CBB will open at Shanghai New International Expo Centre from October 23 – 26, 2018. 1) Steady Demand Growth in Asian-Pacific Region
The beverage and liquid food industry is a highly potential branch in the world economy and is believed to continue its strong growth in the future, especially in China and South-East Asian countries, like Indonesia and Vietnam.
The VDMA（German Engineering Federation）Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association predicts that in the next three years, the beverage industry will maintain an annual growth rate of 4.6%. The population growth along with income increase in the Asian-Pacific region has resulted in a fast growth of the beverage and liquid food production, consumption, as well as import and export. It is now the fastest growing district in the world. In 2014, China produced a total of 75.28 million liters of liquor (fermented alcohol 9.84 million l, beverage liquor 65.44 million l), increasing by 15.82%. Soft drinks production reached 166.77 million tons, up 4.61%. The world is expected to consume 233 billion liters of bottled water in 2015. This is an increase of 63 million liters compared to 2010 (37% increase). China is the most important contributor to such growth. In South-East Asia, Vietnam is leading the market with 8% - 10% growth of liquor, beverage and bottled water production in 2014. Vietnam produced 3.14 billion liters of beer last year, up 8.1%, and 4.05 billion liters of beverage, increasing by 2.7%. The production is expected to grow by 20% from 2015 to 2019.
2) Beverage and Liquid Food Machinery Turns to Smart Manufacturing
The year 2018 is in the period of the “13th Five- Year Plan” in China. Policies to facilitate economy transformation, consumption growth and innovation have been made. Two new concepts, “Industry 4.0” raised by Germany and “Made in China 2025”, are offering new ideas to the global industrial development and the beverage and liquid food technology in China.
